Only a fool continues to insist bringing past culture into one that is unwelcoming. I suppose I am a fool, then. Better than living as trash on the streets.
I read an interesting book on human nature. And by interesting, I do mean ridiculous and poorly thought out. The author did manage to express his points well, despite the invalidity of his statement. This man has obviously never been close enough to touch the staleness of poverty with his own hands. Ignorance of the rich?
I remember when father used to take us to the hill behind the compound, minutes before the eve of the new year, to tell the importance of clean slates and starting anew. He was sure to affirm our goals for the year upcoming. Always encouraging, he was. We were young then. New Years was not based around faith, and therefore was something we could believe in. This year I have made no resolutions.
Unusual for me to be so nostalgic. Such thoughts are plaguing when one does nothing to relive the celebrations of old. The holiday season always did evoke memories of the past. Unexpected how festive of a family they can be.
At least it is ending. The fireworks are headache inducing.
At least it can't get any worse? [ooc; A window in Neji's apartment shattered--through some means or another, he suspects vandalism--and he arrived home after work to a living room full of snow and nasty wet. Unhappy Neji is unhappy. And alone and unloved. :'D]
“Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
It seems she has gotten herself in a bit of trouble. She should learn to avoid places where she ought not to be. Perhaps this will teach her. Though, I wonder if she is even capable of understanding such a simple concept.
Three of my coworkers were fired today. Whatever is going through the manager's mind, nobody knows. I can only say that I am glad I was not a product of it.
